Simple & Sweet

The littlepinkCake Shed

that got a bit out of hand.

What started as a love of baking grew into Simple & Sweet. A tiny Cake Shed in Egham, now with people turning up every weekend for brownies, cookies, cake slices and whatever Billie has been baking that week. And we're only just getting started.

yes, it's an actual shed

It started with cake.
Not a business plan.

I've loved making cakes for years.

Long before Simple & Sweet existed, there were late nights in the kitchen, experimenting with cakes and learning how to decorate them.

It started with things like painting onto fondant.

Then I kept baking.

And kept baking.

What was really just something I loved doing slowly became something people actually wanted to buy.

Then more people wanted them.

Then somehow there was a Cake Shed.

Simple & Sweet was never supposed to become some huge polished bakery overnight. It grew the way a lot of small businesses grow.

One cake.
One order.
One customer telling another.

Until eventually there was a little pink shed outside my home in Egham filled with cakes.

Then I put cake in a shed.

In 2026, the little pink Cake Shed opened in Egham.

The idea was simple.

Bake things people actually want to eat.

Fill the shed.

Open the doors.

See what happens.

What started as a small Cake Shed quickly became something I genuinely wasn't expecting. Every week more people seemed to find it. People came back. They brought friends. They posted about it. And some Saturdays the cakes disappeared almost as quickly as I could put them out.

I kept wondering if I'd made too much...

Apparently I hadn't.

The little shed
isn't big enough anymore.

So... I bought a bigger one.

Simple & Sweet is growing. The original little Cake Shed proved that something very simple could become something much bigger when a local community gets behind it. Now we're expanding the shed and seeing where this thing goes next.

A bigger shed.
More cake.
Same Simple & Sweet.

the boss

Hi, I'm Billie

The person responsible for all this cake.

Simple & Sweet is my little business in Egham. I'm the baker, decorator, menu planner, stocker, content creator and usually the person wondering at midnight whether I've made enough brownies for tomorrow.

This didn't begin with some massive business plan. I just really liked making cakes. Over time that hobby became orders. The orders became a business. And eventually the business got its own little pink shed.

Watching people actually turn up every week, buy the things I've made and come back again still feels slightly surreal. Now the shed is growing, and I'm excited to see where Simple & Sweet goes next.

The menu changes constantly. Sometimes old favourites come back. Sometimes Billie makes something completely new because she thought about it at 11pm the night before. The best way to see what's in the shed this week is Instagram.

just for fun!

The best bit was never really the cake.

It's you lot.

Simple & Sweet only grew because people actually showed up. People came back. People told their friends. People shared the shed online. And somehow a little idea in Egham became something that more and more people started recognising.

The bits everyone asks about.

Can I order a cake for a birthday?

Not right this minute, no. Personal orders are paused because the shed (and Billie) are absolutely flat out at the moment. They're coming back soon though, so pop your name down and you'll be first to know.

So how do I get cake?

The shed. It's self-service, open Saturdays, 9am–9pm at 20 Barons Way in Egham. You help yourself, you pay, you leave very happy.

What's on the menu this week?

It changes constantly, which is half the fun. Instagram is the only place it's ever up to date.

Does it sell out?

Often, and quickly. 400 bakes went in 2.5 hours once. Check Instagram before you set off.

Do you deliver?

No deliveries and no postage. Everything is collected from the shed.

Is it really just a shed?

A little pink one, yes. There's a bigger one on the way.
